The Exhibition of Achievements of the National Economy began its work. It was the most prestigious event in the Soviet Union for all producers of agricultural products. It is here that the Arabian horses of the Tersk Stud became favorites of beauty and harmony for many decades, winning Gold and Silver Medals, as well as Certificates of Honor. Knippel and Pomeranets, Neposeda and Monopolia, Topol and Sapina, Salon and Nadir, Naslednik and Muscat and many others brought home numerous awards up to the last Exhibition of the USSR, held in 1987.

Thanks to the victories of Soviet equestrian athletes at the Olympic Games and International competitions, as well as numerous victories of our horses in prestigious foreign races, including the Pardubice Steeple Chase, equestrian sport began a new round of development. To improve the agility of the livestock, the Polish derby winner Semen was imported to Russia, leaving after himself a number of outstanding mares.

At the opening of the Aswan Dam Egyptian President Abdel Nasser presented stallion Rafaat to Nikita Sergeevich Khrushchev, General Secretary of the CPSU Central Committee. The legendary racing course fighter, multiple track record holder, the winner of the prestigious Soviet steeplechase “DSO Urozhai” – stallion Sport – became the Country Champion in eventing. 1968

A large consignment of horses was imported from Egypt to freshen the blood, including valuable breeding horses Mohayed and Nazeeh. The last import of horses from Egypt was in 1973. However, the controversial origin of horses did not allow them to be used for selection. All livestock of the last import were transferred to the Stavropol stud for work with the Tersk breed.
