1921

February 11th, 1921 – signing of a decree on the creation of the Military Tersk Stud (on the territory of the Grafsky Khutor stud) with the purpose of breeding Arabian horses for cavalry officers.

1922

By decree of Marshal Semyon Mikhailovich Budyonny, the Tersk Stud becomes the State Military Stud under number 169.

1923

At the First All-Russian Agricultural and Handicraft Exhibition in Moscow. The Stud team and stallion Tsylindr were awarded the Big Silver Medal.

1925

The Tersk Stud received the status of a “breeding farm” and immediately began to carry out breeding activities. Initially the target was to restore the Streletsk horse breed, but due to the few horses available it was decided to create a new riding breed on their basis, which was later called “the Tersk breed”.

1926

26 brood mares of the Shagiya-Arabian breed and half-Arab crosses, as well as two stallions, were imported from Hungary. They served as the basis for the formation of the Tersk breed.
