Count Sergei Alexandrovich Stroganov acquires two Arabian stallions and nine mares during a trip to Syria and the North Arabian Desert.

In the course of the trip to the East with his sister Olga and her husband Prince Shcherbatov, Count Sergei Alexandrovich Stroganov makes a life-defining decision to form the “Grafsky Khutor Stud” at the foot of Mount Zmeyka in the city of Mineralnye Vody.

1899

The Stud already had 9 sires and 21 dams. In total, together with the young animals, the Stud housed 66 Arabian purebred horses.
